Overview
The Light Industrial Worker (General Laborer) performs a variety of hands-on tasks to support daily operations and maintenance activities. This position requires physical stamina, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Duties include material handling, site preparation, equipment operation, and general facility support.
Responsibilities
- Prepare work areas by removing debris, organizing materials, and maintaining safe workspaces.
- Load, unload, transport, and store supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Assist maintenance staff and skilled trades workers with assigned projects and daily operations.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Move materials using pallet jacks, dollies, and other approved equipment.
- Perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties to maintain an organized work environment.
- Follow all workplace safety policies and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Support facility operations by completing general labor tasks as assigned.
- Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Maintain productivity while following established procedures and guidelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds or more as needed.
- Strong attendance record and reliable transportation.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety practices.
- Previous experience in general labor, warehouse, manufacturing, maintenance, or related fields is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to perform a variety of assigned tasks.
