Responsibilities
- Generate reports on all routine tests and testing activities.
- Troubleshoot issues found during testing to identify root cause and make necessary repairs.
- Execute tests according to testing procedures and established processes.
- Demonstrate good working knowledge of computers, data recorders, digital multimeters, various measurement instruments, pneumatic/hydraulic gauges, and various hand tools.
- Demonstrate ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wire lists.
- Clearly document and report any anomaly or failure found during test execution.
- Demonstrate growth in understanding and optimization of test execution and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge and comprehension of schematics, block diagrams, wire lists, and functional diagrams, along with knowledge of basic electronics and operation of 12VDC-72VDC, 220VAC-480VAC, and 750DC systems.
- Support mechanical installations and repairs on rail vehicles as needed.
- Support the installation of electrical panels, equipment, and components, with good understanding of operation to troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Maintain technician safety awareness and follow all applicable safety procedures.
- Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Electrical Engineering Degree desirable.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical testing or related field.
- Must be able to work different shifts and overtime as needed.
- Must be able to work in heavy industrial environments, including outside in rail yards.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces, standing or crouching for long periods.
