Objective
Produce engineering and design deliverables for electrical power distribution systems (low voltage through medium voltage) based on project requirements, including calculations, equipment selection, and installation documentation.Responsibilities
- Define electrical system scope and technical criteria for assigned projects.
- Develop engineering calculations to meet applicable project requirements (e.g., load calculations and related analyses).
- Perform equipment sizing/selection and create equipment and installation specifications.
- Prepare contractor-ready electrical work packages.
- Review and comment on drawings and submittals from vendors, other disciplines, and project stakeholders.
- Provide technical review of design output prepared by designers/drafters.
- Complete site/field investigations to collect information needed to support design and confirm project scope.
- Maintain organized engineering files and project records.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year institution.
- Minimum 5 years of electrical design engineering experience.
- Experience designing low- and medium-voltage distribution systems.
- Experience performing load and short-circuit studies.
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Ability to perform field investigations to define and support project scope.
Preferences
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- High-voltage system experience.
- Proficiency with SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Lighting system design experience.
