Overview
Join a collaborative, innovation-driven leader in the regulated manufacturing industry as a Packaging Engineer supporting the development and validation of packaging solutions that ensure products are transported safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. In this hands-on contract role, you'll partner with cross-functional teams to drive packaging design, verification and validation activities, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives while contributing to impactful projects in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Develops and designs packaging equipment and materials for safe, convenient, and attractive transport of goods under a variety of conditions.
- Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to determine the required type of packaging materials and to maximize convenience, utility, and function based on the product's physical characteristics, safety, and special-handling requirements.
- Evaluates packaging and transporting methods and procedures to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Evaluates and recommends efficient packing procedures, innovations in packaging materials, and utilization of sealing and fastening devices.
- Ensures compliance with regulated industry packaging design standards.
- Performs design verification and validation processes.
- Conducts root cause analysis on packaging test failures.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams on supplier management and project leadership initiatives.
- Regulated industry packaging design experience.
- Experience with design verification and validation.
- Experience with packaging test failure root cause analysis (RCA).
- Bachelor’s degree in packaging engineering or a related field and 2+ years of packaging industry experience OR Associate’s Degree in packaging or related field and 4+ years of packaging industry experience.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials and methods.
- Project leadership skills (preferred).
- Experience with supplier management (preferred).
- Equipment qualification experience (preferred).
