Permitting Coordinator
The Permitting Coordinator assists with all aspects of tracking, organizing, and monitoring Building, Zoning, and Site permits from initial submittal through project closeout. This role works closely with the permitting team and the broader project team—including architects and engineers—to ensure permitting timelines, requirements, and expectations are consistently met.
The ideal candidate is diligent, persistent, highly organized, and possesses strong interpersonal skills. This position requires the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) at both local and state levels, as well as General Contractors across multiple regions of the United States.

- Assist permitting team members in developing pre-submittal documentation
- Support the accurate and timely submission of construction drawings and related materials required to obtain construction permits
- Track, organize, and maintain permit submittal statuses and projected approval dates
- Help respond to permit review comments and coordinate timely resubmittals of revised drawings
- Coordinate with local and state AHJs and General Contractors regarding permit changes, revisions, and closeout requirements
- Interact with client document management systems to obtain required approvals, signatures, and documentation
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with project stakeholders throughout the permitting process
What You’ll Need to Have
The company is looking for a self-starter with strong organizational skills and a desire to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Associate’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in building and/or site permit acquisition or entitlement (preferred)
- General familiarity with facility construction, architecture, and/or engineering
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings (preferred)
- Strong research skills to identify AHJ requirements via internet, phone, and written communication
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with PDF creation and manipulation
