Contractor Work Model: Hybrid, 3-4 days a week on site.
Responsibilities:
- Interface with suppliers on the development of Primary and Intermediate Sodium Pumps, ensuring hardware design meets design intent.
- Oversee the design, manufacture, and delivery of large nuclear fluid pumps, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities.
- Provide technical oversight to partners and subcontractors working on mechanical system designs for the reactor.
- Coordinate technical interfaces and manage drawings, P&IDs, 3D models, and system interface diagrams.
- Establish and maintain system requirements, specifications, and design packages for major plant equipment.
- Support planning efforts, maintain schedule adherence, and ensure integration with overall plant design delivery.
- Propose, initiate, and oversee testing programs for plant system qualification as needed.
- Identify and resolve technical issues and risks, ensuring technical review and compliance with design codes such as ASME, ASTM, IEEE, and NFPA.
- Generate and review calculations, reports, and engineering documentation; coordinate multidisciplinary efforts.
Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical or related discipline from an accredited university
- 10+ years of direct experience with proven mechanical systems skills
- Experience with component design, manufacture, and full hardware lifecycle management
- Experience with supplier/contractor coordination and project management
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in fluid and structural analysis, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawings
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Self-starter with ability to lead and coordinate design teams with minimal direction
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, resolve conflicts, and work on multidisciplinary projects
- High integrity, open communication, and teamwork orientation
