Position Overview
System One is seeking a Buyer to support procurement and contract administration activities for complex technical projects. This role works closely with Contract Administrators, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure efficient procurement operations, on-time delivery, and successful subcontract and purchase order (PO) closeout.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to effectively communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly reports to identify subcontracts ready for closeout and support the closeout process
- Generate weekly reports to track upcoming and overdue purchase orders
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm PO status and ensure on-time delivery
- Notify Contract Administrators of delays or performance concerns
- Coordinate with Shipping/Receiving to ensure accurate and timely material handling
- Support new supplier screening and onboarding activities
- Process small-dollar (P-card) procurement requisitions
- Assist in resolving invoicing issues, including match exceptions
- Support additional procurement and contract administration tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR
- Associate degree with 4+ years of experience, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Experience working with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in DOE, DOD, or government-regulated environments
- Background in warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling
- Experience in nuclear or highly regulated industries
- Military experience is a plus
