Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality, accurate technical drawings and plans translating design concepts into project schematics
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to gather design specifications, calculations, and structural requirements
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project managers and design teams, ensuring all changes are accurately documented
- Ensure all designs and drawings comply with industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation and filing systems for all project drawings and records
- Assist in preparing project materials lists and cost estimates
- Conduct occasional site visits to verify measurements and gather data for designs as needed
- Maintain high standards of quality and professionalism regarding workmanship, customer relations, coworkers, behavior, and appearance
- Associate's degree or certificate in a relevant field and proven experience as a draftsman
- Proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD or Revit; knowledge of BIM software is a plus
- 5 or more years of experience in electrical drafting and design
- Skilled understanding of architectural and engineering principles
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and follow-up skills
- Mathematical and analytical abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and familiarity with industry regulations and building codes
- Effective time management skills
