Overview
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support accounting staff, including assigning work, providing guidance, and monitoring performance.
- Manage and perform monthly close processes, financial reporting, and related accounting procedures.
- Ensure accounts payable obligations are processed accurately and paid in a timely manner.
- Monitor accounts receivable activity and coordinate collection efforts to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable payroll tax and reporting requirements.
- Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for financial and ERP systems, ensuring accurate and reliable reporting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in accordance with GAAP and company standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
- Perform and review bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and accounting records.
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place over accounting transactions and financial reporting processes.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely financial statements.
- Analyze financial results, budgeting variances, and key performance indicators.
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making.
- Support audits, compliance activities, and other accounting-related projects as needed.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience required.
- 3+ years of accounting leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Experience managing monthly close and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP/accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial analysis preferred.
- CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant professional certification is a plus but not required.
- Experience supporting audits and maintaining internal controls preferred.
- Ability to work independently while effectively managing team responsibilities.
