System One is actively seeking a Drainage Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with a client in Guaynabo, PR. This role will focus on the design and management of stormwater systems for public and private projects, ensuring full regulatory compliance while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Responsibilities
- Design and manage stormwater systems for public and private projects.
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, drainage tabulations, and scour analyses for transportation projects.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal stormwater regulations.
- Design and inspect erosion and sediment control best management practices (BMPs).
- Prepare engineering reports, construction plans, and permitting documentation (per PRHTA standards).
- Serve as Engineer-of-Record for assigned drainage tasks, as applicable.
- Oversee timely completion of multiple concurrent tasks.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and client representatives.
- Lead quality control (QC) efforts for the drainage design team.
- Proficiency with stormwater modeling software (HEC-RAS, ICPR, BMPTRAINS, HydroCAD, PondPack, etc.)
- Strong analytical and design capabilities in stormwater management
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
- Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clients
- Leadership and oversight in quality assurance/control
- Knowledge of environmental and regulatory compliance for stormwater systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant roadway/drainage engineering experience
- Working knowledge of local, state, and federal stormwater design standards
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Over 4 years of progressive experience in roadway drainage design
- Experience with bridge hydraulics and scour analysis
