Responsibilities
- Manage projects from initial customer contact through post project analysis, establishing and overseeing construction work plans to meet customer schedules, design requirements, and budgetary constraints
- Design safe operating facilities for new and existing customers in accordance with Xcel Energy standards, providing distribution design project management for the least complex areas of design
- Obtain permits and easements for facilities, ensuring compliance with city ordinances, state, federal, and county agencies
- Execute contracts and agreements in line with administrative and regulatory requirements
- Represent the company with government officials, contractors, city agencies, vendors, architects, and engineers to deliver excellent customer service
- Support the design and management of distribution projects, including GIS-based distribution work, project lifecycle management, and coordination with internal teams
- Perform site visits and field inspections, including equipment inspection and customer meetings, utilizing PPE provided and following safety protocols
Requirements
- Entry-level experience (0–3 years) in electrical, GIS, mapping, project management, or construction
- Associate degree required
- Electrical distribution design experience preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally within a collaborative team environment
- Construction or utility background is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GIS software
- Willingness to support occasional after-hours work during emergency situations
- Ability to travel approximately 30% to sites and manage reimbursable expenses such as mileage
