Engineer on an 11 month contract position located in Naperville, IL.
Engineer Responsibilities:
- Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power related systems.
- Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications
- Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost
- Create a safe work environment by putting safety first
- Understand the process used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance
- Understand the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance
- Understand design practices and work processes, using all software applications used in design
- Understand industry and Company design standards
- Support design standard and criteria development for the system
- Support construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations
- Estimate material for projects
- Transmit construction packages and supporting specifications
Engineer Requirements:
- 0-5 years of related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with ABET Accreditation in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification preferred
- Prior internship or co-op experience in an engineering field preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans - intermediate to advanced proficiency
- MS Office - intermediate proficiency
- Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
- CAD/GIS - basic proficiency, Hydraulic analysis experience, Project Management preferred
- Introductory engineering knowledge
- Basic problem-solving skills
- Basic discipline software knowledge
- Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
