Responsibilities
- Perform testing of coatings to evaluate performance characteristics using established procedures.
- Evaluate, collect, and record data accurately during experiments.
- Organize and perform experiments following established protocols, summarizing and reporting results in laboratory notebooks.
- Use a computer to enter data, including charts and tables, to communicate project results and details.
- Participate in making cleaners, pretreatments, paints, and coatings from chemical ingredients.
- Test performance characteristics of coated substrates according to safety and laboratory protocols.
- Work in Technical Service under supervision, demonstrating initiative and independence in daily tasks.
- 2 to 4 years of demonstrated laboratory experience.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to understand and follow experimental protocols for data preservation.
- Comfortable working with toxic chemicals while adhering to safe laboratory practices and protocols.
- Ability to stand for most of the workday in a laboratory environment.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
