System One is looking to contract with a part-time Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA) Engineer for one of our clients in Virginia. This is a remote 6-12 month position, with a competitive salary.
To qualify for this position, you need to have:
- A Bachelors degree in Engineering
- At least 5 years of Engineering experience,
- LOCA experience
- Proficiency with LINUX environments
- Experience with computer programming and scripting in FORTRAN, PYTHON, C++
- Experience using nuclear fuel performance codes and understanding of fuel behavior under accident conditions
- Experience using RELAP or similar code to simulate reactor systems behavior during postulated accidents.
- Performing new small break and large break loss-of-coolant accident analyses for Westinghouse and Combustion Engineering designed Pressurized Water Reactors
- Evaluating and documenting the impact of plant and core design
- Changes on existing LOCA analyses
- Knowledge of LOCA (required)
- The ability to work independently and efficiently
- The skill to communicate your leadership potential
- Possess leadership qualities to facilitate cross team and
- interdepartmental technical deliverables
