System One is currently seeking a Mechanical Department Manager for an industry-leading client in the Warrendale, PA area.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the managerial direction of the department.
- Provides supervision and guidance related to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.
- Determines technical and professional staffing needs – hires, manages, and motivates personnel.
- Provides work assignments and reviews performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff. Performs performance reviews.
- Serves as a technical advisor, provides senior-level input and evaluation on projects.
- Establishes and maintains quality and accuracy standards.
- Reviews and approves completed engineering documentation.
- Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems.
- Determines program objectives and requirements, organizes projects and develops standards and guidelines. Works cooperatively with other managers to achieve the company’s mission.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science - Mechanical Engineering- Masters Preferred
- 15+ Years of Engineering Experience
- PE Certification.
- Subcontractor Management
- Vendor Management
- Budget planning, tracking, and reporting
- Change Order preparation and negotiation
- Proposal Preparation
- Technical Writing
- Staff Management
- Contract Management
- Project forecasting
- Deltek experience is Preferred
- PMP certification is Preferred
