Mechanical Engineer
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to contribute design and drafting expertise to a variety of projects. This role involves creating detailed component drawings, mechanical details, system layouts, and mechanical designs while collaborating with Project Engineers and other team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and incorporate design input from engineering personnel.
- Research and explore various design possibilities as needed.
- Develop detailed shop, field, and subcontractor fabrication drawings.
- Ensure all work is accurate, complete, and meets customer and company CAD standards.
- Apply appropriate dimensioning and tolerance values to convey precise fabrication intent.
- Produce clear, precise, and easily readable drawings optimized for efficient paper use.
- Visit job sites as needed to assess field conditions and collect data, which may involve extended travel.
- Include fabrication notes to clarify special procedures where necessary.
- Conform to ISO standards and follow established backup procedures.
- Utilize company resources efficiently and responsibly.
- Work professionally as part of a team and assist colleagues as needed.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance, with occasional extended hours, weekends, or holidays as required.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned to meet company objectives and client needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Strong mechanical aptitude to understand machinery and equipment functionality.
- Ability to interpret specifications, drawings, instructions, and other design inputs.
- Capable of working independently and managing tasks effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with engineering, shop, and field teams.
- Solid understanding of fabrication and dimensioning practices related to equipment construction.
