Overview
The Mechanical Engineer PE I applies standard engineering techniques to design, analyze, test, maintain, repair, or improve products, components, or assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Apply standard engineering techniques to design, analyze, test, maintain, repair, or improve products, components, or assemblies.
- Responsible for signing and sealing engineering documents.
- Analyze, develop, and evaluate systems.
- Improve and maintain current systems or create new projects.
- Design and draft blueprints, visit systems in the field, and manage projects.
- Apply engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment.
- Perform work under general supervision.
- Handle complex issues and problems, referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Professional Engineer License (PE)
- 4-6 years of experience
- Working knowledge of the subject matter
- Critical thinking skills
- Problem solving skills
- Mathematic skills
- Computer skills
- Technical expertise
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
- Travel requirement: 5-10% of time spent traveling to job site(s)/office location
- Physical/Work Environment Requirements: ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles; climbing stairs; moving self in different positions; working in tight and confined spaces; repeating motions; operating machinery and power tools; outdoor elements; noisy environment; light to heavy work including lifting 20-100 pounds
