Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and implement APIs, microservices, and backend components.
- Collaborate with development teams to build and enhance API features at scale.
- Improve API standards, performance, and service quality.
- Develop and unit test Java-based RESTful services that integrate with external systems.
- Utilize DevOps tools including Jenkins, uDeploy, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Review technical design documents and provide feedback on solutions, estimates, and implementation approaches.
- Create technical designs for new applications and enhancements to existing systems.
- Translate business and functional requirements into scalable system designs.
- Prioritize work effectively and meet project deadlines.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and external partners.
- Research and recommend frameworks, libraries, and tools to streamline development efforts.
- Participate in Agile development processes and code reviews.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in Java/J2EE development.
- Strong experience with REST APIs, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, XML, JSON, and Swagger/OpenAPI.
- 4+ years of experience developing and consuming SOAP and REST web services in production environments.
- Experience building APIs and microservices in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Experience with OpenShift, containerization, and microservices architecture.
- 3+ years of experience using GitHub, Jenkins, and CI/CD tools.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies such as Node.js and Angular (version 8+ preferred).
- Experience with Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, and MongoDB.
- Experience integrating Java applications with Oracle and/or SQL Server databases.
- Hands-on experience developing secure REST APIs and implementing application security best practices.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and Agile practices.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Enterprise application development experience.
- Experience working in highly regulated or large-scale environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization capabilities.
- Exposure to cloud-native technologies and modern application architecture patterns.
