Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Manage high-availability solutions such as SQL Server clustering, Always-On, Oracle RAC, and Data Guard.
- Perform regular database maintenance including indexing, statistics updates, backups, and upgrades.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, analyze query execution plans, and optimize SQL queries.
- Manage user access, roles, permissions, and audit database activities for security purposes.
- Design, implement, and oversee database migration projects, including cloud migrations to Azure and AWS.
- Configure and troubleshoot replication, mirroring, log shipping, and other data synchronization solutions.
- Leverage tools such as SQL Profiler, OEM, OEM monitoring, and shell scripting to maintain database health.
- Participate in on-call support, routine patches, and disaster recovery testing.
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing SQL Server and Oracle databases.
- Oracle and SQL Certified.
- Proficient in SQL Cluster, Always-On, Azure Managed Instances, and cloud database migration.
- Experience with Azure, AWS RDS, EC2, Linux shell scripting, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle RAC.
- Strong knowledge of database security, TDE, Oracle STIG, and DR testing.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex database environments.
- Excellent teamwork and availability for on-call support.
