Description
Provide substantive legal and administrative support to the Office of General Counsel with respect to legal matters involving the organization and its subsidiary entities.
Responsibilities
- Manage intake of legal matters and provide an initial analysis of the impact on the organization.
- Provide prompt, concise, and comprehensive responses to all communications.
- Manage high-volume, complex matters and prepare counsel in advance of calls and/or deadlines.
- Proactively monitor legal matters, including preparing written summaries, case status reports, and tracking case calendars.
- Demonstrate a positive, proactive attitude that enables independent work, sound judgment, effective problem-solving, and appropriate escalation when needed.
- Serve as a liaison with outside counsel, internal clients, court officials, and other relevant contacts.
- Support workplace investigations by working with internal clients to collect, review, and summarize information and documents.
- Proofread and maintain legal documents, business communications, correspondence, and other written materials.
- Conduct factual and legal research, support coordination of fact investigations, and prepare attorneys for depositions, hearings, and trial.
- Draft business communications, reports, correspondence, and other written materials for organizational use.
- Ensure maintenance of the Office of General Counsel legal library/database, including the electronic document management system.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
** Preference for paralegal experience versus lawyering experience.
