Responsibilities
- Develop technical justifications and define the scope for Front End Loading capital projects.
- Oversee the execution of minor capital improvements, including direct supervision of field construction and installation.
- Ensure all technical documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, and Block Flow Diagrams, remains accurate and up to date.
- Champion the implementation of Equipment Best Practices and Asset Integrity standards to ensure long-term reliability.
- Monitor and forecast critical unit health indicators, such as catalyst activity levels, heat exchanger performance, and system pressure differentials.
- Audit and manage site variable costs, developing strategic action plans to reduce resource consumption and waste.
- Coordinate and document Maximum Daily Capacity evaluations to establish and push facility production limits safely.
- Act as a "change agent" for the management team, facilitating the rollout of new operational initiatives and process improvements.
- Enforce and model strict compliance with ISO/RC 14001 standards and all corporate safety policies.
- Actively participate in Process Safety Management activities, including Management of Change and the Employee Participation Program.
- Maintain a high level of Emergency Response awareness, including HAZWOPER and Incident Command System protocols as part of the Production Engineer's safety duties.
- Manage and report on site-wide Key Performance Indicators, specifically targeting Overall Equipment Effectiveness, On Stream Time, and power generation efficiency.
- Utilize advanced compliance and analysis tools to identify process gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Lead efforts to tune and improve plant control loops for more stable operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited four-year university.
- 3 to 5 years within the refining or chemical processing sectors. Candidates with prior leadership or line management experience as a Production Engineer are preferred.
- Familiarity with PSM/RMP regulations and industry standards such as API, ASME, NFPA, OSHA, and EPA.
- Valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) is required.
- Proficient in performing fluid flow, mass transfer, and heat transfer calculations, with a solid grasp of industrial chemistry.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines and thrive in high-pressure industrial environments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
