Business Development Manager (Thermal Oxidizer)
Responsibilities
- Serve as the commercial leader for the RTO product line, collaborating closely with sales, applications engineering, project execution, and senior leadership.
- Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities, regularly updating management on progress and developing account plans for strategic customers.
- Establish and nurture relationships with end users, EPC contractors, environmental consultants, technology licensors, and regulatory agencies through regular visits and presentations.
- Position the company as a preferred or sole-source supplier and support qualification efforts for the Approved Vendor List (AVL).
- Identify early-stage projects, track project schedules, decision makers, budgets, and competitors; influence project specifications to favor company solutions.
- Lead win strategy discussions for strategic projects; develop pricing strategies based on market intelligence and competitive positioning; review risks and contractual requirements; coordinate bid/no-bid decisions.
- Develop technical proposals that meet customer requirements, review proposal scope and pricing, and gather market feedback on emerging customer needs and competition.
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, environmental regulations, emerging technologies, and gather competitive intelligence for leadership.
- Identify new market segments and geographic growth opportunities, ensuring pipeline value exceeds annual booking targets with accurate forecasting.
- Conduct regular customer visits and meetings, develop strong relationships with key decision makers, and achieve high customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Provide timely opportunity updates, submit market intelligence reports, demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
Requirements
- B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related field)
- 5+ years of industry experience in sales and/or industry environments
- Experience with combustion, emissions control, Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers, VOC abatement, or environmental technologies
- Strong understanding of thermal oxidizers, and environmental regulations
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Willingness to travel as required
