Overview
The Senior Accounts Payable Manager provides interim leadership and operational oversight of the Accounts Payable function during a critical transition period. This role ensures continuity of payments, stabilizes AP processes, and reduces reliance on manual workarounds. The position partners closely with Finance, Treasury, IT, and external vendors to resolve operational issues and maintain efficient, compliant payment operations.
Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day Accounts Payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.

Provide leadership and direction to the Accounts Payable team, driving execution, resolving issues quickly, and maintaining focus on operational priorities.

Partner with Finance and IT teams to address system-related issues affecting AP processes and ensure operational stability.

Manage urgent payment requests, escalations, and exceptions to maintain business continuity.

Stabilize and improve AP workflows by reducing dependency on manual processes and implementing sustainable solutions.

Ensure adherence to internal controls, SOX requirements, and financial governance standards.

Communicate operational status, risks, and dependencies to Finance leadership and key stakeholders.

Document AP procedures and support knowledge transfer to ensure continuity following the engagement.
Qualifications

7–10+ years of experience in Accounts Payable leadership, accounting operations, or financial process management.

Demonstrated experience managing high-volume invoice processing and payment operations.

Strong knowledge of internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial governance practices.

Experience partnering with Finance, Treasury, and IT teams to resolve operational and system-related challenges.

Ability to quickly assess operational issues, implement improvements, and drive execution in a fast-paced environment.
