Overview
System One is e are seeking a high-caliber Senior Engineering Project Manager to join our Project Management Department in Greenville, SC. The position will start off remotely then move into office once opens. This role offers a premier opportunity to lead complex, large-scale design projects for major clients in the power industry. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of project execution, from early-phase design and vendor management through to start-up and commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic vision and direction for project staff, ensuring full accountability for budget, schedule, and quality of technical deliverables.
- Lead mid-to-large capital power projects, particularly combined cycle power plants, with a Total Installed Cost (TIC) of $100MM+.
- Manage and coordinate work with overseas High Value Engineering (HVE) offices and multidisciplinary teams globally.
- Monitor, report, and control project costs and productivity; manage Change Management (ECNs) to maintain project profitability and scope integrity.
- Serve as primary client liaison to ensure contractual requirements are met and to foster new business opportunities.
- Recruit, train, and coach project personnel to maintain staffing efficiency and technical excellence.
- Perform field walk-downs and data collection, requiring physical activity and travel to project sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license highly preferred.
- 15–20 years of experience in power projects, with significant experience in combined cycle plants.
- Minimum of 8–10 years in a Project Manager role managing a portfolio of small to large-cap projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; highly organized and self-directed with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel and work in both office and field settings.
