Responsibilities
- Complete mold repairs and modifications necessary for the production of acceptable molded plastic products.
- Troubleshoot and recommend solutions for problem molds assigned by the Director of Tech Services.
- Set up and operate all tool room equipment using very close tolerances.
- Read mold drawings or hand sketches to complete repairs or tool modifications.
- Perform mold cleaning and rework according to facility procedures.
- Maintain proper records of activities on molds and time required to complete jobs.
- Handle special project assignments and report results to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager verbally and in writing.
- Keep updated files on all projects.
- Report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager regarding relevant matters.
- Four-year tool and die apprenticeship (U.S. Department of Labor-approved).
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair molds with high precision.
- Experience reading mold drawings or sketches.
- Knowledge of mold cleaning and rework procedures.
- Strong recordkeeping skills.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Commitment to safety standards and manufacturing policies.
