We are seeking a Training Program Director that is local to Richland, WA to support mission-critical training development within a DOE nuclear operations environment. This role directly supports ongoing tank waste operations and facility readiness, ensuring personnel across Operations and Engineering are fully trained, qualified, and prepared to perform safely in a high-consequence setting.
This is a production-focused role, not academic instructional design. The work is tightly aligned to real-world execution, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity within active nuclear facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed task analysis across Operations and Engineering functions (?3,650 task line items)
- Identify required knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) tied to job roles
- Develop learning objectives aligned with mission and qualification requirements
- Design and develop training using SAT/ADDIE methodology
- Build and maintain classroom, computer-based (CBT), and OJT training materials
- Evaluate and revise existing training programs to meet current operational needs
- Partner closely with SMEs, Operations, Engineering, and Training leadership
- Ensure technical accuracy, regulatory alignment, and procedural compliance
- Track progress and maintain documentation for all assigned training deliverables
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in instructional analysis/design within nuclear or high-hazard environments
- Strong experience with SAT (Systematic Approach to Training) and ADDIE methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to perform task analysis and develop training tied to job performance
- Experience developing OJT, CBT, and instructor-led training materials
- Ability to work independently and contribute immediately in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting DOE sites (Hanford strongly preferred)
- Background in nuclear operations, engineering, or regulated industrial environments
- Familiarity with training program compliance and qualification standards
