JOB SUMMARY: We are currently seeking a professional Technical Writer/Illustrator to join our team in supporting our fast-paced outdoor product development. As a technical writer with our client, you play a vital role in delivering world-class products and experiences to the customer. You will play an important role in managing the end-to-end development of technical writing for new and existing products. You will work closely with product managers, suppliers, technical support, and other subject matter experts to understand the products, write, and maintain product documentation, and advocate for our customers. This role requires writing and editing experience, as well as strong verbal communication and organizational and project management skills. Technical Writer/Illustrator:
Write, edit, and integrate complex text and graphic materials into structured, readable documentation while aligning with project scope(s).
Manage individual projects, which includes (but is not limited to) identifying deliverables and release schedule.
Coordinate project schedule and scope with Portfolio Leaders, Product Manager, Suppliers, Marketing and other Subject Matter Experts to ensure maximum content applicability.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively to meet business objectives.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across the business to support documentation standardization and development initiatives.
Continuously improve business and department processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communications or related field.
Minimum of 3 years Technical Writing and Illustrator experience (preferably in outdoor products and/or industrial products)
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (with a strong working knowledge of InDesign and Illustrator), and Creative Cloud. Layout abilities using style pallets and table editing are a necessary part of the projects.
A working knowledge of SolidWorks is required to edit/modify supplied CAD files to create the required illustrations for use in the manuals.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Project management experience, excellent time management and organizational skills, and strong attention to detail.
Ability to examine workflows, thrive in a collaborative environment, and leverage problem solving skills to improve processes.
Ability to work with cross functional and global teams and effectively communicate.
Ability to manage a large portfolio of projects with varying complexities.
