Position Summary
System One is staffing a direct hire opening for a respected power equipment distributor. We’re seeking a Creative Lead – eCommerce & Brand to join the company’s in-house creative team in Columbus, Ohio.
This is a hands-on, player-coach role for a talented designer who wants to continue doing the creative work while taking the next step into leadership.
They’re are not looking for someone who wants to simply review work and manage from the sidelines. The right person will be comfortable opening Figma or Photoshop and building an Amazon gallery one day, developing a campaign concept the next, and then helping prioritize projects, review creative, and provide direction to other members of the creative team.
The Creative Lead will help raise the quality and consistency of Corporate creative across ecommerce, product launches, digital marketing, packaging, retail, photography, video, and brand initiatives. This individual will work closely with Brand, Ecommerce, Product Development, Sales, and leadership to turn complex products and specifications into creative that is visually compelling, easy to understand, and effective at driving customer engagement and conversion.
This role is ideal for an ambitious creative professional who has built a strong design foundation and is ready for more ownership, more responsibility, and the opportunity to grow into a larger creative leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

• Remain highly hands-on in the design and production of creative, including Amazon listing images, A+ and Premium A+ content, retailer content, digital advertising, web assets, product launch materials, presentations, packaging, and other brand creative.
• Use Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator, to create and maintain scalable creative systems, templates, and finished assets.
• Translate product specifications, technical features, and customer benefits into clear, compelling visual and written communication.
• Help lead the day-to-day creative team by prioritizing work, providing direction and feedback, reviewing creative, and helping ensure projects are delivered on time and at a consistently high standard.
• Serve as a bridge between creative strategy and execution, turning direction from Brand leadership into actionable projects and finished creative.
• Take ownership of projects from initial concept through final execution.
• Help develop creative concepts and campaigns supporting new product launches, ecommerce initiatives, brand campaigns, retail programs, photography, and video.
• Continuously improve ecommerce content across Amazon, company website, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Walmart, and other retail partners.
• Conduct competitive research to identify category trends, customer needs, creative opportunities, and ways to differentiate Corporate products.
• Write and refine concise, benefit-driven product copy for ecommerce imagery, web content, packaging, presentations, and other creative applications.
• Maintain and evolve the Corporate visual brand while ensuring creative remains consistent across channels.
• Partner with photographers, videographers, agencies, freelancers, overseas creative partners, and other external resources when needed.
• Help plan and direct product photography and video content.
• Support packaging and visual merchandising as Corporate continues to expand its brick-and-mortar retail presence.
• Collaborate closely with Brand, Ecommerce, Product Development, Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership.
• Help establish better creative workflows, templates, review processes, and standards that allow the team to move quickly without sacrificing quality.
• Mentor and support other designers while creating a collaborative environment where feedback is direct, productive, and focused on improving the work.
• Leverage AI-enabled creative tools to improve ideation, copy development, research, image development, and overall creative efficiency.
• Stay current on Amazon content requirements, ecommerce best practices, design trends, emerging technologies, and changes in digital consumer behavior.

• 3–5 years of professional experience in graphic design, ecommerce creative, digital design, consumer products, advertising, or a related creative field.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent fundamentals in layout, typography, visual hierarchy, image composition, branding, and digital design.
• Strong working proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Demonstrated ability to take projects from concept through final execution without requiring extensive supervision.
• Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to understand product specifications and technical information and turn them into clear, customer-friendly communication.
• Comfortable writing and editing product-focused marketing copy in addition to designing visual content.
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy and creative quality.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain creative decisions and provide constructive feedback.
• A high level of initiative and willingness to jump in wherever needed to get the work completed.
