About the role
Join a team supporting defense/tactical systems where you’ll help test and validate software used for mission-critical tools and applications. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career to grow alongside experienced test engineers while working on meaningful programs.
Must have:
- Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Candidate should have 2+ years of relevant technical experience with BS degree.
- Candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
- Relevant technical experience must include testing and/or troubleshooting embedded software or embedded-adjacent applications that interface with, operate, monitor, support, simulate, control, or communicate with embedded systems.
- Must be a resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to the Huntsville-North Alabama area.
- Experience performing software test on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Have experience implementing with software test automation.
- Candidate must demonstrate ability in software development in either C#/.NET, C, C++, Java, Python, or Ruby programming languages.
Preferred:
- Experience writing user interface (UI) tests with automated UI testing technologies.
- Experience with applicable industry standards (IEEE 12207, CMMI, DO-178C and/or DO-278, MIL-STD-882e, RMF).
- The ability to work across multiple products under development by multiple small teams.
- Knowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) principles and application
- Experience with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices technology.
- Experience testing guidance & control algorithms.
- Experience testing navigation systems.
- Experience testing mission planning systems (NOMS, JMPS).
- Experience testing sensors used in guidance, navigation, or mission planning systems.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML.
- Understanding of hardware-software integration and software systems engineering principles
- Great communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership and government customers.
