Position Summary

The Facility Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing hands-on maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment, utilities, and facility systems in a regulated manufacturing environment. This position supports production and engineering operations by ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with cGMP, FDA, and OSHA requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Technical trade certification or Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related field preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a regulated FDA manufacturing environment (pharma preferred)

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressed air, WFI, and clean steam systems

  • Working knowledge of cGMP, FDA, and OSHA compliance in a manufacturing setting

  • Experience using CMMS (e.g., B.M.R.A.M.) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, P&IDs, and SOPs

  • Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout and facility safety procedures

  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and respond to urgent maintenance calls

Responsibilities

Equipment & Facility Maintenance

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing, utility, and facility systems

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime

  • Maintain logs, records, and documentation for all maintenance activities

System Support & Compliance

  • Ensure maintenance activities meet cGMP, FDA, and safety standards

  • Support audits and inspections by maintaining accurate and up-to-date records

  • Verify calibration and functionality of tools and testing equipment

Cross-Functional Support

  • Collaborate with Production, QA/QC, and Engineering teams to support operational needs

  • Assist with new equipment installation, qualification, and continuous improvement projects
