Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations and personnel including hands-on support, equipment repair and upkeep, facility maintenance, and compliance with cGMP and safety regulations. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, team leadership, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional departments including Production, Quality Assurance / Control, and Engineering.
Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day maintenance activities and assign tasks to technicians based on priority and business needs.

Provide hands-on support in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing, utility, and facility equipment.

Monitor team performance, ensure compliance with maintenance procedures, and provide training as needed.

Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established protocols.

Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.

Respond promptly to breakdowns or service calls and perform root cause analysis on equipment failures.

Maintain and troubleshoot critical systems including HVAC, compressed air, boilers, chillers, WFI, and clean steam.

Maintain accurate logs and documentation for all equipment and maintenance activity. Facility & Equipment Compliance

Ensure facility and equipment maintenance aligns with cGMP, FDA, and other regulatory standards.

Participate in audits and inspections and ensure maintenance documentation is readily available and complete.

Ensure all tools and calibration equipment are in good working order and properly maintained. Cross-Department Coordination

Serve as the main point of contact for maintenance-related issues impacting production and QA/QC operations, production and manufacturing.

Collaborate with Engineering and Validation teams for equipment installation, qualification, and improvement projects.

Support project planning and execution for facility upgrades and new equipment commissioning.

In-depth understanding of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems in a GMP-regulated environment.

Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout, and facility safety protocols.

Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and asset management tracking.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, technical manuals, and SOPs.
Requirements

Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a regulated environment, including supervisory roles

Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting experience on HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressed air, WFI, and clean steam systems

Solid understanding of cGMP and FDA compliance requirements in Pharmaceutical manufacturing

Proven ability to manage a team, delegate tasks, and prioritize work based on business needs

Experience using CMMS (e.g., B.M.R.A.M.) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Ability to read technical documents, blueprints, P&IDs, and SOPs

Proficient in OSHA standards, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and facility safety protocols

Physically able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and respond to emergency maintenance needs
