Overview:
System One is seeking a highly capable and motivated Plant Integrated Analysis Engineer to support advanced nuclear reactor development within a sodium-cooled reactor program. This role focuses on plant-level thermal-hydraulic and control system analysis, supporting design, safety, and operational performance.
This is a highly technical role working cross-functionally with safety, I&C, and design engineering teams to model, analyze, and validate complex plant systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop RELAP5-3D models for steady-state and transient one-dimensional hydraulic network analyses
- Perform plant-level thermal-hydraulic analysis for normal operations, upset conditions, and emergency scenarios
- Develop and evaluate plant control strategies and component-level controllers
- Perform first-principles calculations (heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics) to support analysis results
- Analyze plant-wide transients to support operational strategies and design improvements
- Conduct multi-scale, multidisciplinary analyses involving sodium, molten salt, and non-condensable fluids
- Collaborate with engineering teams across system, component, fuel, and control system design
- Support development of analytical methods and validation of modeling approaches
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. or higher in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- Experience with system codes such as RELAP5 or TRACE (required)
- Strong thermal-hydraulic analysis experience, including one-dimensional hydraulic networks and transient analysis
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience modeling control systems and I&C
- Background in nuclear power plant design or operations
- Experience developing new analytical methods
