Responsibilities
- Analyze customer-supplied system specifications and decompose them into detailed functional, performance, hardware, and software requirements, extending the requirement set based on standards, codes, and interfaces.
- Create requirement documents including high-level design, interface control documents, detailed software requirements and specifications, and traceability documentation.
- Serve as the primary technical interface with the customer and act as a technical liaison with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external parties to ensure effective communication.
- Develop and execute commissioning plans, including resource allocation, logistics, and scheduling; act as onsite lead for commissioning and acceptance testing.
- Oversee commissioning and testing of plant systems including control networks, power supply, fire detection, ventilation, HMIs, and integrated control.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support during commissioning and operations, locally and remotely.
- Develop training materials and train-the-trainer programs for safe plant operation.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Capture technical knowledge for continuous improvement and efficiently resolve customer issues.
- Complete administrative tasks including service reports, issue tracking, safety analyses, and quality compliance documentation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation systems such as railway, metro, tram, or freight.
- Support in design, installation, testing (FAT, SAT, SIT), and commissioning of integrated SCADA-related systems including BACS, Power Supply, SIL2 Safety, Tunnel Ventilation Control Systems, CFAMS, EMP, DWH.
- Experience with interface clarification and integration of control systems with station services, civil works, and other rail subsystems.
- Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning processes.
- Track and report work progress accurately.
- Ensure safety rules and procedures are strictly followed.
- Coordinate with system stakeholders, review design/installation documentation, supervise construction, and ensure technical compliance.
- Support interface resolution with civil, signaling, and system teams and report progress and impacts.
- Support FAT approvals, RAMS assessments, and safety analyses for SCADA systems.
- Basic technical knowledge in power distribution, grounding, wiring, communication protocols (Modbus TCP, IEC 61850, OPC UA), motor control, hardware/software architecture, relay logic, and maintenance concepts.
- 2+ years of experience in major transportation infrastructure projects; P.Eng. preferred but not required.
- Experience with designing, installing, testing, and operating control systems; knowledge of standards and safety principles.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, highly organized, and customer-focused problem solver.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, Control Systems, or related engineering field; clear criminal background check required.
