Responsibilities
- Assist Laboratory Manager in performing daily laboratory functions, including sample preparation, instrumental analysis by ICP or atomic absorption, titration assays for silver, and fire assays.
- Clean, operate, and maintain ICP and AA instruments.
- Conduct titrations and fire assays accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Perform ammonia testing using Ion Selective Electrode (ISE).
- Manage inventory and order supplies for the laboratory.
- Contribute to analytical method development for non-routine materials.
- Prepare standards and reagents as needed for daily analysis.
- In the absence of the Laboratory Manager, perform necessary functions normally handled by the manager.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline with laboratory experience or at least two years’ coursework toward a Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline with academic lab experience. Inorganic Chemistry is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer proficiency and experience with laboratory software.
- Well-organized, capable of multitasking, and effective in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to be versatile and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with hazardous chemicals preferred.
- Experience in safety programs preferred.
- Pre-employment drug screening and background checks required.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
