Qualifications
Essential Functions
- Set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling machines to machine metallic and nonmetallic components.
- Review and compare numerical data displays with operation sheet specifications.
- Read, interpret, and edit G-code to make offset adjustments.
- Perform periodic inspections to ensure machined parts meet all specifications outlined in the router packet.
- Adjust program parameters to accommodate tool wear, material hardness, and other factors impacting machining performance.
- Grind, deburr, and polish parts to produce smooth edges and surfaces; clean and finish all hole interiors.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, including replenishing coolant and cleaning equipment.
- Provide feedback to support quality improvements and cost efficiency initiatives.
- Maintain a strong commitment to quality—aiming for zero scrap and first-piece quality standards.
- Support department and company goals related to Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Attitude (QCDSA).
- Work effectively as a team member with minimal supervision.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Makino Mag 3 exp preferred
- Proficient in reading, interpreting, and editing G-code.
- Able to perform complete machine setups independently.
- Experience with program editing and strong math skills, including proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and basic algebra and geometry.
- Must provide own tools.
- High proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T, and use of inspection tools and methods.
- Experience with aerospace materials, tight tolerances, and strict quality requirements is preferred.
- Forklift experience is a plus; must be able to pass a forklift operations test if required.
- Knowledge of basic quality procedures and ISO standards.
