Overview
This position will start in assembly or material handling and then once perm, the main objective of the role will be to drive a box truck with materials from one company location to another, and back and forth.
Responsibilities
- Drive company box truck and/or other vehicles in a safe and courteous manner according to schedule
- Pick up boxes of metal parts, load and unload into truck or other vehicle, ensuring proper handling and cleanliness
- Complete periodic vehicle maintenance and report any issues
- Prepare accident and incident reports as necessary
- Assemble metal parts using hands and basic tools efficiently
- Maintain accurate counts of assembled items and adhere to quality standards
- Learn and utilize the in-house work order control system
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Comfortable and competent driving a box truck
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in using a tablet
- Basic Math Skills including measuring and calculator use
- Ability to understand basic engineering concepts and units of measure (pressure, length, flow rate, etc.)
- Good hand dexterity in fingers and wrists for assembling metal parts
- Fluent in English for reading, writing, and verbal communication
- Basic computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent customer-service skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
