System One has partnered with a local accounting firm in Tulsa, OK, in their search for an Income Tax Accountant to join their team. The Income Tax Accountant is responsible for preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and/or businesses, and will also be responsible for general accounting to service clients. Candidates must have an active Enrolled Agent certification.

Tax Preparation: Analyzing financial records, including income statements, balance sheets, and expense reports, to calculate tax liabilities accurately. Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and maximize deductions.

Filing Tax Returns: Completing and filing tax returns on behalf of clients, ensuring that all necessary documentation is included and submitted within deadlines.

Tax Planning: Providing clients with strategic advice on tax planning to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes.

Client Consultation: Conversing with clients to discuss their tax situations, answer questions, and provide guidance on tax-related matters.

Compliance: Ensuring that tax filings comply with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. This involves staying abreast of changes in tax codes and regulations and updating clients accordingly.

Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of financial transactions and tax-related documents for clients. This includes organizing receipts, invoices, and other relevant paperwork for tax purposes.

Research: Conducting research on tax issues and regulations to address complex tax situations or unique client needs. This may involve interpreting tax laws, rulings, and precedents to provide informed advice.

Software Proficiency: Using specialized tax software and accounting tools to facilitate tax preparation, calculations, and electronic filing. The company primarily utilizes Proseries Tax Software along with Quickbooks Online.
