System One Clinical & Science is partnering with a client to hire a Director of Partnerships and Patient Recruitment to build and lead an end-to-end patient recruitment and referral strategy for clinical trials. This is a remote role (East Coast preferred) with some travel (approximately 1–2 trips per month), primarily to support new site growth. You’ll design and optimize digital-first recruitment funnels and provider referral partnerships, while managing a lean team (and occasionally rolling up your sleeves to help with outbound efforts). Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of patient recruitment experience, strong PI/provider-facing partnership skills, and a track record building scalable processes in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
- Partner with PI’s to learn about their patients and determine if they should learn about upcoming trials
- Collaborate with leadership teams on de novo site initiation
- Participate in patient referral recruitment and/or manage the team that performs patient recruitment
- Monitor digital ads for patient recruitment and edit them as needed
- Design: inbound for media leads, outbound for provider lists; five-minute speed-to-lead with a defined retry cadence; dialer, CRM integration, call recording, scripted flows; TCPA, HIPAA, and GCP-aligned scripts.
- Productivity: manage agents on dials, contact rate, appointments set, and show rate, plus a weekly quality score; coach on a steady cadence; tie incentives to randomizations and kept meetings, not raw dials.
- Referral partnerships: turn providers who hold diagnosed patients into a steady referral source. Structure any arrangement with counsel first (anti-kickback and Stark).
- De novo sites: convert providers into Sensorium research sites, feeding the build side of the buy-and-build strategy.
- New PIs: source physicians to serve as principal investigators and sub-investigators, widening capacity for existing and de novo sites.
Requirements
- Must haves: 8+ years in patient recruitment
- Ability to create and then manage the process of patient recruitment (should bring their experience to the role and recommend how to construct the framework, and then manage the process)
- Experience speaking with PI’s and explaining the recruitment process and how the site network would partner with the PI’s once their patients are enrolled
- Educational requirement: BS
- 8+ years in patient recruitment and/or site development in clinical research, with numbers to show.
- Has personally built a digital recruitment funnel and a partner referral program, and run a call center (inbound and outbound, including an offshore or BPO relationship).
- Channel judgment, systems-builder discipline, and a closer's instinct; recruits and coaches a call center team to a scorecard.
