JOB TITLE: Expeditor (Piping / Materials) LOCATION: Katy, TX (Onsite) JOB TYPE: Contract-to-hire (W2) PAY RATE: $25–$30/hr (target range) SCHEDULE: 40 hours/week OVERVIEW The Expeditor plays a critical role in ensuring materials and related components are delivered on time and in the correct sequence to support project schedules and keep construction progress on track. You will act as a liaison between procurement, suppliers, project teams, engineering, and construction to track deliveries, resolve delays, and provide clear status updates. RESPONSIBILITIES - Track and monitor the status of materials, long-lead items, and vendor deliverables against project schedules. - Communicate with suppliers to confirm order acknowledgments, manufacturing progress, shipment dates, and delivery timelines. - Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and project teams to resolve delivery issues, material discrepancies, and schedule conflicts. - Maintain expediting logs, dashboards, and status reports. - Identify delivery risks and support mitigation plans. - Support purchasing activities by reviewing PO promise dates, lead times, and supplier capacity. - Attend project meetings and provide updates on material status and critical path impacts. - Help ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and contractual requirements. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - 2+ years of expediting or procurement support experience in piping, construction, EPC, and/or oil & gas preferred. - Knowledge of piping components (valves, fittings, etc.). - Strong Excel skills (heavy Excel use). - Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills. - Detail-oriented and proactive (“go-getter” mindset). PREFERRED / PLUS - Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field. - Experience with ERP systems and/or project scheduling tools.
