We are seeking a Lead Sitecore Engineer to provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise across complex Sitecore implementations. This role is accountable for the technical direction, quality, and delivery of Sitecore solutions across one or more client engagements.
This is a lead engineer role with accountability for leading the technical delivery of complex Sitecore-based solutions. This role requires a strong programming background, deep expertise in Sitecore infrastructure and application architecture, and the ability to guide technical direction, presentations, and proof-of-concept efforts.
You will own technical delivery across the full project lifecycle, from early solutioning and technical discovery through successful launch and ongoing execution. This includes contributing to pre-delivery planning, defining technical approaches, anchoring proof-of-concept efforts, and ensuring solutions meet both client and platform standards.
This role is ideal for a senior engineer with experience in agency or consultancy environments who can balance hands-on technical execution, delivery accountability, mentorship, and strong cross-functional partnership.

Requirements:
Must Have:
• Remote; 9:00am - 5:00pm EST
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience
• Deep, hands-on experience with Sitecore XP/XM (or composable Sitecore), including templates, renderings, workflows, publishing, Experience Editor, and personalization concepts
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Framework/Core, and ASP.NET MVC, with the ability to lead through hands-on development and review production-grade code
• Strong experience building modern front-end applications using React in Sitecore or headless architectures
• Experience using Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines, work item tracking, and release management
• Ownership of architecture and technical delivery for complex, full lifecycle implementations, including integration planning and risk management
• Working knowledge of SQL Server, including understanding Sitecore database architecture and writing queries for troubleshooting and validation
• Solid front-end fundamentals in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, including responsive design and Sitecore rendering implementation
• Demonstrated technical leadership through mentorship, engineering best practices, and clear communication with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders

Should Have:
• Strong experience with Git and modern version control workflows (SVN familiarity a plus)
• Proficiency with Visual Studio
• Strong understanding of SDLC, best practices, and quality-driven development

Nice to Have:
• Experience building React-based front-end applications using GraphQL, particularly in headless or composable Sitecore architectures

What Success Looks Like:
• Delivering scalable, well-architected Sitecore solutions aligned to business goals

• Lead architecture, design, and development of scalable Sitecore solutions aligned to business needs
• Anchor and lead Proof of Concept (PoC) development efforts
• Define and enforce best practices for coding, unit testing, reviews, documentation, and technical standards
• Mentor team members in technology, architecture, and delivery

• Lead hands-on development using ASP.NET, C#, .NET Framework/Core, MVC, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3
• Design and develop complex custom features and components to support client business requirements
• Implement platform integrations with third-party services and enterprise systems
• Develop workflows, reports, metrics, and customizations within the Sitecore environment
• Perform coding, unit testing, debugging, peer reviews, and documentation, including functional and technical specifications
