Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Paralegal / Contract Specialist to support a contracts and compliance team focused on health plan / benefit contract documents (e.g., evidence of coverage and related templates). In this role, you’ll review contract language, compare documents for accuracy, and clearly document findings and recommended edits for supervisor review.
This is a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable working with legal-style language, and able to communicate clearly in writing.
What you’ll do
- Review and analyze benefit contract documents and templates for accuracy, consistency, and compliance
- Compare multiple documents/versions to identify errors, gaps, and inconsistencies
- Suggest edits and updates to contract language for supervisor review and approval (work is overseen by a supervisor)
- Document findings clearly and provide written summaries/recommendations
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (legal, product, marketing, strategy, health services, etc.) to support contract-related updates
- Support ongoing process improvements related to contract documentation and reviews
What you’ll bring (must-have)
- 5+ years of contract management / contract review experience
- Paralegal background (or equivalent hands-on legal contract experience)
- Strong ability to understand legal language and recognize downstream impacts of changes within a document
- Excellent written and verbal communication (able to articulate findings clearly)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and general business software/tools
- Collaborative working style
Nice to have
- Healthcare/health insurance contracting experience (highly preferred), but not required if you have strong legal contracts experience and can be trained
- Law school coursework/degree
- Experience supporting payer-related contracts/documents
