Senior Accountant/ Accounts Payable Manager
Accounting:
-
Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts and financial statements.
-
Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and accruals.
-
Assist with annual audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and university financial policies.
-
Analyze financial data and provide reporting to support leadership decision-making.
Accounts Payable & Payment Services:
-
Oversee AP operations, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements.
-
Ensure timely, accurate disbursements while maintaining strong internal controls.
-
Develop and enhance AP policies and procedures for efficiency and compliance.
-
Address vendor inquiries and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
Leadership & Collaboration:
-
Supervise and mentor accounting and AP staff.
-
Partner with procurement, payroll, and other teams to streamline workflows.

Lead process improvements and system enhancements, including automation initiatives.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
-
5+ years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory responsibility.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, AP processes, and ERP systems (Oracle or similar).

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Experience in higher education finance.

Familiarity with grant and restricted fund compliance.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
