Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team and work independently on electrical engineering projects
• Work onsite at designated locations and remotely as needed
• Travel for meetings and field inspections to various sites
• Assist in designing and overseeing electrical power systems, including scope documents, schedules, budgets, single line diagrams, and wiring layouts
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
• Provide technical guidance to other engineers, designers, and drafters
• Support checkout and startup procedures of electrical systems
• Support DC system wiring, physical design, equipment specifications, inspections, and acceptance testing

Requirements

• Experience with detailed design of battery systems, chargers, inverters, UPS, and DC fuse panels
• Seven or more years of experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and CAD Overlay
• Ability to prepare single line, elementary, and wiring diagrams with minimal oversight
• Willingness and ability to travel within company footprints to plants
• 3-6 years of related experience in electrical engineering
• Accredited bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BS)
• Good knowledge of engineering design principles, preferably for power plant electrical systems
• Experience providing technical direction for design details, drawings, and calculations
• Experience scheduling and coordinating projects to meet cost and schedule goals
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and CAD Overlay is a plus
• High initiative with effective planning, organization, and execution skills
• Ability to handle large project designs at fossil-fired generating plants with limited supervision
• Strong relationship-building skills with plant staff, engineering teams, and vendors
