Hours: 2PM - 10PM Monday - Friday; occasional weekends

Overview
Leading food manufacturing company looking for an experienced Lab Technologist. This role involves autonomously setting up, completing sanitation and running equipment for trials. Ideal candidates should have direct experience in a food or laboratory environment, depending on educational background (HS or 2-year degree).

Responsibilities

  • Set up, complete sanitation, and operate equipment for trials autonomously, focusing on food safety and risk assessments
  • Lead teams through projects to identify and resolve safety risks, ensuring compliance with food safety standards
  • Maintain proficiency on multiple unit operations and systems, with mastery on some, and train others as needed
  • Perform equipment sanitation activities, inspect sanitation processes, and lead complex system setups
  • Support equipment maintenance, electrical, and controls with a technical focus
  • Lift and manipulate ingredients or equipment up to 55 lbs repeatedly and safely
  • Adapt to changing work schedules, including potential shift changes, overtime, and weekend support based on business needs
Requirements
  • Direct experience in a food or laboratory environment, depending on educational background (HS or 2-year degree)
  • Experience working in teams to deliver results and strong communication skills
  • Basic computer and technology skills (Office Suite, other programs)
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to coach, train, and develop others, translating technical knowledge into business impact
  • Comfortable operating equipment autonomously in a pilot or plant environment
  • Strong understanding of food safety and human safety standards
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities efficiently
  • Interpersonal skills to build relationships at all organizational levels and resolve conflicts effectively
  • Desire to learn quickly and apply new concepts in a productive manner
  • Leadership qualities, high-quality work ethic, and a high regard for safety and accuracy
