Job Title: Data Governance Analyst
Location: REMOTE or hybrid in Vienna, VA
Pay Rate: Open to Both W2 or established 1099/IC's (no c2c)
Position Type: Multiyear Contract

We are looking for candidates with 3-5 years of experience in data governance and project management/coordination. This is NOT a senior role.

This role focuses on data governance and compliance, specifically around secure and permanent data deletion across the enterprise. The individual acts as a bridge between business, risk, and technical teams, ensuring that data deletion processes align with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance frameworks. They will guide stakeholders and product teams, help define and enforce controls, support audits and compliance reviews, and establish metrics to track effectiveness. Strong communication and coordination are critical, as the role involves training, oversight, and cross-functional alignment.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, implement, and align data deletion controls and processes with established frameworks.
Guide technical product owners and teams through data deletion intake and requirements, ensuring compliance with retention and deletion policies.
Establish and maintain data deletion controls to reduce risks and address emerging organizational needs.
Provide oversight, training, and participate in compliance reviews for stakeholders involved in approving and auditing data deletion.
Design metrics, foster alignment across governance and risk functions, and effectively communicate standards and procedures to business stakeholders.

Requirements

Strong communication, data analysis, and project management skills
Experience supporting enterprise data governance services, particularly in secure and permanent data deletion
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and guide technical teams on data deletion processes
Knowledge of data retention and deletion policies and compliance standards
Experience designing metrics and communicating standards to business stakeholders
