Senior Accountant/ Accounts Payable Manager

Accounting:

• Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts and financial statements.

• Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and accruals.

• Assist with annual audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and university financial policies.

• Analyze financial data and provide reporting to support leadership decision-making.

Accounts Payable & Payment Services:

• Oversee AP operations, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements.

• Ensure timely, accurate disbursements while maintaining strong internal controls.

• Develop and enhance AP policies and procedures for efficiency and compliance.

• Address vendor inquiries and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

Leadership & Collaboration:

• Supervise and mentor accounting and AP staff.

• Partner with procurement, payroll, and other teams to streamline workflows.

• Lead process improvements and system enhancements, including automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory responsibility.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, AP processes, and ERP systems (Oracle or similar).

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred:

• Experience in higher education finance.

• Familiarity with grant and restricted fund compliance.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
